The life insurance cover’s benefit amount is a sum corresponding to two years’ annual income. The benefit amount is always determined according to the situation as reported by the employer, which is usually updated in the spring. The precise benefit amount is stated annually in the insurance extract sent by Mandatum. The benefit amount is paid in a lump sum to the designated beneficiary.
All AFRY Group Finland Oy, AFRY Finland Oy and AFRY Management Consulting Oy employees with a permanent employment contract are covered by the insurance. The life insurance covers death caused by an illness or accident and is valid 24/7 anywhere in the world. The insurance cover will be valid for as long as you belong to a group specified by your employer and covered by the insurance.
At the start of the contract, the beneficiaries are your next of kin. You can change the beneficiary by logging in to the Web Service www.mandatum.fi and sending a message about the beneficiary.
In addition to the benefit amount under the life insurance offered by the employer, you can take out separate life insurance as additional cover. As AFRY’s employee you will receive a 30% discount on it negotiated by your employer. You can also supplement the insurance with cover for critical illness, for which your employer has negotiated a 10% increase in the sum insured. The requirement for the discounts is that there is no need to use increased premiums based on the health status of the insured. Buy additional cover through the link below or ask us to contact you.
The insurance cover will be valid for as long as you belong to a group specified by your employer and covered by the insurance or until you turn 65 years old. After that you have the option of continuing the life insurance cover by taking out an insurance policy yourself, without the need for a health declaration.
Select either cover for critical illness, life insurance or both. You can take out additional individual life insurance cover at a 30% discount negotiated by your employer by using the campaign code "AFRY30". For cover for critical illness, you can get a 10% increase in the sum insured by using the campaign code "AFRY10"

If the policyholder’s next of kin have been specified as the beneficiaries, the clause is valid for the benefit of the spouse and the heirs as referred to in the Code of Inheritance. If there are no direct descendants, however, the spouse alone receives the insurance benefit. If there is no spouse, the heirs alone receive the insurance benefit. The insurance benefit to be received by the heirs is distributed according to their right to inherit as stipulated in the Code of Inheritance.
A copy of the official certificate showing family relationships, meaning a consecutive chain of population register extracts from the insured to the beneficiary starting at the age of 15 or a copy of the estate inventory deed, which includes the parties to the estate, must be attached to the claim.
