Manage your matters in Mandatum's digital services

You can see detailed information about the insurance in Mandatum's web and mobile services. In the web service, you can also update the insurance beneficiary and contact our customer service. You can log in to the web service at mandatum.fi. The Mandatum Rahat app can be downloaded from the Google Play or Apple Store app stores.

Benefit amount

The amount of the life insurance benefit is the same as your annual base pay and in maximum EUR 70,000. The life insurance benefit will always be based on the January situation info supplied by the employer. The benefit amount is paid in a lump sum to the designated beneficiary.

Validity

The insurance covers death caused by an illness or accident and is valid 24/7 anywhere in the world. The insurance cover will be valid for as long as you belong to a group specified by your employer and covered by the insurance.

Beneficiaries

At the start of the contract, the beneficiaries are your next of kin. You can change the beneficiary by logging in to the Web Service www.mandatum.fi and sending a message about the beneficiary.

Option to raise the benefit amount at a discounted price

If you wish, you can take out additional individual life insurance cover at a 30% discount negotiated by your employer. You can also supplement the insurance with cover for critical illness, for which your employer has negotiated a 10% increase in the sum insured. The individual life insurance cover and the cover for critical illness require a health declaration given by the insured. Entitlement to continued insurance

The insurance cover will be valid for as long as you belong to a group specified by your employer and covered by the insurance. After that you have the option of continuing the life insurance cover by taking out an insurance policy yourself, without the need for a health declaration.

You can take out additional individual life insurance cover at a 30% discount negotiated by your employer by using the campaign code "NOKIA30". You can also supplement the insurance with cover for critical illness, for which your employer has negotiated a 10% increase in the sum insured. Take advantage of the benefit by using the campaign code "NOKIA10".

Who is it for?

Cover for critical illness is granted to people between the ages of 20 and 64, and life insurance cover is granted to people up to the age of 89. Both types of insurance cover are particularly worthwhile if there are underage children in the family, loans or co-signed debt.

What does the life insurance cover?

In the event of death, an agreed life insurance benefit is paid to the next of kin or to other designated beneficiaries as a lump sum. It does not reduce any statutory compensation that may be paid to your family.

What is covered by cover for critical illness?

Cover for critical illness covers these illnesses and procedures as defined in more detail in the insurance terms and conditions: cancer, heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, multiple sclerosis, coronary bypass surgery and organ transplant or bone marrow transplant. You will receive the tax-free lump sum benefit after a physician’s diagnosis, and you are free to use it as you wish.

Beneficiary of life insurance benefit

Next of kin

If the policyholder’s next of kin have been specified as the beneficiaries, the clause is valid for the benefit of the spouse and the heirs as referred to in the Code of Inheritance. If there are no direct descendants, however, the spouse alone receives the insurance benefit. If there is no spouse, the heirs alone receive the insurance benefit. The insurance benefit to be received by the heirs is distributed according to their right to inherit as stipulated in the Code of Inheritance. 

A copy of the official certificate showing family relationships, meaning a consecutive chain of population register extracts from the insured to the beneficiary starting at the age of 15 or a copy of the estate inventory deed, which includes the parties to the estate, must be attached to the claim.
